A writer’s workbench has just one tool that matters most

Sure, you should keep a dictionary and a thesaurus, perhaps a pad and pencil. But at the end of the day, the keyboard is where the magic leaves your brain and is turned into words.

A carpenter has the sander and saw. A blacksmith his fire and anvil. Writers craft their goods with letters on keys.

Like a musician strumming their guitar or a pianist tickling the ebony and ivories, writers write.
