I’ve been obsessed with Minecraft, on and off, for years. And I recently played the first two seasons of Telltale Games’ The Walking Dead.
Now these two things have come together for Minecraft: Story Mode, and it looks like will be one fun frickin’ game.
The game appears to work in the spirit off other Telltale Games, such as the aforementioned The Walking Dead, as well as Game of Thrones. You’ll make choices that impact the overall direction and tone of the story.
The visuals adhere pretty strongly to the look of Minecraft, and it appears we’ll be getting to play in the Overworld, the Nether, and likely, The End.
Here’s the official description, found here:
Minecraft: Story Mode is an adventure game set in a Minecraft world. It is a five-part episodic series that will take you to the Nether, the Farlands, the End, and beyond! You will drive how the story flows through the decisions you make: what you say to people (and how you say it), and what you choose to do in moments of thrilling action.
The voice actors include Patton Oswalt, Martha Plimpton, Corey Feldman and Paul Reubens, among others.
They’re not specific as to when it’ll get released, but Minecraft: Story Mode will be available on Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, PC, Mac, compatible iOS devices, Android, and Amazon Fire TV.
